Description:
Develops buying strategies for maximizing media dollars. Placing buys using the most up-to-date research available
Responsibilities:
- Keeping up to date with industry research figures, including distribution figures (newspapers and magazines) and audience figures (TV and radio)
- Developing an acute understanding of the goals and where the competition stands
- Handling media RFPs and negotiating with media sales reps to obtain the best rates and most appropriate media spaces in broadcast, print, and online
- Accurately document contracts, budgets, cost estimates, approvals, job orders, and post-buy analysis.
- Maintain budget control and ensure execution of media plans by reviewing approved media schedules, developing buy specs, and monitoring and optimizing buys/schedules
- Collecting and analyzing sales and consumer data
- Posting to ensure that the schedules run accurately so the desired media message is seen and heard by consumers
- Provides management with regular updates and reports on campaign performance; rationale; recommendations; projections, and results
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and at least 2 years experience as a buyer/planner interactive media.
- Experience planning across Print, Broadcast, OOH and Digital
- Working knowledge of research tools and industry software
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Required Skills:
- Strategic creative media thinker
- Strong ability to optimize campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to create/maintain strong vendor relationships in order to make the best deal
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Must be detail-oriented, very organized, a multi-tasker and able to work well under pressure
