Description:
The network Security administrator is responsible for a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation, and training to ensure that LAN performance meets company and user requirements. The ideal candidate is energetic and easy-going with a great work ethic and the personality for a diverse, customer service oriented work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, install, configure, troubleshoot and repair Linux network server systems
- Website and intranet installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Plan and implement network security, build firewalls, manage host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, file system integrity, and user management
- Identify LAN/WAN utilization patterns and their effect on system availability and performance. Anticipate network problems and implement preventive measures.
- Evaluate and recommend purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment and software
- Investigate user problems, identify the sources, determine possible solutions, and implement/test solutions
- Participate in on-call rotational schedule
Qualifications:
- BS degree or equivalent experience in computer science/information technology or related field
- At least 3 years network administration experience
Required Skills:
- Must have hands-on working knowledge of the following technical areas: Windows Active Directory administration, Linux administration, MYSQL administration, Apache, iis, Sonic Wall routers, DNS, SMT
- Must be able to effectively work on multiple projects concurrently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent problem solving skills
