Facebook Has Changed its Name To Meta Because of a Part of a Major Rebrand

Facebook has changed its name to Meta because of a part of a major rebrand. The company would better encompass what it does and broaden its reach beyond social media into areas like virtual reality. Well, the changes do not platform of individual platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook.

There is a series of negative stories about Facebook based on documents leaked by an ex-employee. Frances Haugen accused the company of “profits over safety.” Google restructured its company and called it its first Alphabet in 2015.

Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg announced that the new game as he unveiled plans to build a metaverse.  People use VR headsets in an online world game, work, and contagious.

The company also unveiled a new sign at its headquarters in Menlo Park, California, and replaced its thumbs up “Like” logo with a blue infinity shape. According to Mr.Zuckerberg, the new name reflects over time, and users will not need to use Facebook to use the company’s other services.

“Meta” word comes from the Greek word meaning beyond. A metaverse looks like a version of VR, and some people believe it could be the future of the internet. People in a metaverse might use a headset to enter a virtual world connecting all sorts of digital environments.

The virtual world could be used for practically anything from work, play, concerts with friends and family.  Well, Facebook says it starts trading its share under the new stock ticker MVRS from December 1.
